Talk on Google App Engine
I gave an introductory talk on Google App Engine yesterday at RIAction, a Rich Internet Application platforms focussed day-long event here in Singapore. I am embedding the slides here or you can click here to view in fullscreen or download the deck. Sorry about the lack of any notes!
The event went well for a first effort. Thanks to the organizers & the sponsors for putting this thing together!
On a humourous note, the goodie bag included a first-aid kit sponsored by Microsoft. Feel free to speculate on why MS would be handing out band-aids to developers ;-)

Stickies #17 : My Hobby

A new Stickies after a long time! Fans of xkcd will immediately pick the reference in this one. BTW, the numbers come from a true incident at the San Jose airport.

Stickies #16 : Dead man talking

Too many zombie references have passed my eyes this last week. Drew this while I was (still am!) killing time waiting for a midnight conf-call. Hopefully, it's worth at least a chuckle!

Proof by Induction
I thought of doing a Stickies comic based on this.. but I'm lazy these days.

Stickies #12 : Superposition

This strip is entirely courtesy Bala, but without his permission. I hope he doesn't sue me! Or I hope Google acquires me before he sues me! ;-)

This one is based on a true incident narrated to me by a friend. Apologies to the guilty party if she ever comes across this strip :-D

Stickies #9

I'm sorry about the lack of updates around here. What can I say, been busy. So busy in fact that if you notice, the artwork for this strip is exactly the same as an earlier strip - I just found time to change the text ;-) BTW, this strip is based on a true story; this happened to me while flying to India last month. It's sad that dumb people on the other side of the planet (US, UK) implement policies with almost no security benefit and it's even sadder that people here just blindly imitate those policies.
On a lighter note, check out this Family Guy clip on airline security which was made, amazingly enough, before 9/11!

Strip #7

I tried drawing this strip freehand using pencil and paper; gave up after ten minutes of scribbling and scratching. Inkscape gives even stroke challenged people such as myself, a shot at creating respectable looking squiggles!
My choice of title: Miracle Worker. Your choice?

Strip #6 : Mean-Me

As usual, your suggestions for the title and/or general comments are much welcomed. My choice: Mean-Me.
I've also updated earlier strips with titles. If the SNR of this connection could be improved, you would be able to hear them screaming with joy!

Strip #5 : No Pressure

It's true, I get all my geo-political news about India from The Acorn. As far as I am concerned, if Nitin doesn't write about it, it's not worth knowing.
BTW, if you noticed, this strip too is untitled. If you really noticed, the previous strip too is still untitled! If I don't get any title suggestions for this one either, I'll consider the experiment a failure and demand a treat from Ashwin. ;-)
PS: Daily Show: India Edition really would be awesome!

Strip #4 : Coffee without KKKKKK

Ashwin asked me to let readers suggest titles for these strips. I think it's a neat idea and so I am leaving this strip untitled for now. Please do offer suggestions; you don't want this strip to remain benaam forever, do you?!
