While trying to install Win XP Pro under VMWare (using an easyvmx.com created config), I was stumped with the following BSOD message:

SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED

[blah, blah, blah]

Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000006F (0xC0000020, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

The fix was to rip the Windows CD to an iso (dd if=/dev/hdc of=xp.iso) and use that as a cdrom under the VMware player.
